Wow it's been so long!
I really wish I could be posting more often but it's much harder than I thought it would be. I rarely dress up in seminary, and there's always a lot going on. But I really miss blogging so I'm going to try to keep up with this as much as I can.
I hope you all had a great Yom Tov! It's definitely been very different here in Israel. Never before have I felt a chag so strongly, but here the chagim are all around me. It's so cool!
Isn't it crazy that I left home just 7 weeks ago? Nutso. It feels like it all went by so fast and so slow at the same time. It's just that a lot has changed within such a short period of time. I have a new home now. Well, a new temporary home. And it's 7,000 miles away from the people and the place I was surrounded by for 18 years. And I've met so many new people! Who knew there were so many more Jews out there!
But even though my world now is still a little unfamiliar to me, thank G-d, everything's been incredible. I'm so happy and grateful that I'm here, and I feel like I'm really in the right place, at the right time. Yes, I'm a little homesick I guess. But that's only natural. The thing about "home" for me is that it's one place I can feel 100% comfortable. Being here, even when I'm with my closest friends, or at my brothers apartment, it's still never gonna be that place where I can feel 100% comfortable. Just because it simply isn't my home.
Btw I'm not sure if you guys have been hearing about the Israel craziness right now, but it's really insane what's been going on. All this terrorism!
Stabbings? Shootings? Man, you gotta have so much hatred built up inside to be able to kill an innocent human being you've never met in your life.
But I guess that doesn't mean much if you're an animal right?
That's what these terrorists are.
Animals.
There's no logic or intellect involved.
They've been so brainwashed for so long that their hatred for those who are not them is embedded in their DNA.
Makes you want to puke right?
Sometimes it's hard to remember the tragedies that go on here because of how beautiful this country is.
Seriously though.
I'm a people watcher, and
wherever I go, I see people helping others.
Just the other day, this elderly woman wanted to cross this busy street but was struggling to make the cars slow down for her. I went over to help her and right then this guy pulled up in his car and kindly asked if he could give her a lift.
Yesterday, I went to this big grocery store Osher Ad, and as I was walking to get a cart, I realized that I didn't have any coins to pay for the cart. The woman in front of me realized this too and got me a cart without hesitation! And later that day, I was in the shuk trying to open this apple cider bottle but I couldn't pop off the cap. Right when I was about to give up, this guy walks up to me from out of nowhere with a bottle opener that he had on his keys and opened it for me. This is why I love Israel. People actually care about other people. I have soo many other stories. They happen on the daily here.
This country, this world. Beautiful, tragic. All at the same time.
Speaking of tragic.
The night before Yom Kippur, this beautiful 15 year old girl, Tsofia Mesica, from the LA community, lost her life in a horrible car prank accident. In her memory, a few of her friends started this movement called the ™movement. The purpose of it is to help raise awareness about the importance of car safety. On their website, you can take the pledge to be safe around cars.
I highly suggest you all go check out the ™Movement website and read more about Tsofia. I personally never met her, but from the way my friends describe her, she sounds like she must have been someone extremely special and unique.
May G-d bring comfort to all the families dealing with their lost loved ones.

I don't want to end this post on a somber note so I thought I'd share a little glimpse of what my life has been like the past couple weeks. Check out some of the photos down below.
I hope you all have a fun and safe weekend!
