Got a different kind of post for you today.
Warning: it's not such a happy one.
To quote Ariel from The Little Mermaid, "I just don't see how a world that makes such wonderful things, could be bad."
Well, I have an answer for Ariel.
The answer is that this so called "wonderful world" just allowed a beautiful, blonde, young girl pass through it's gates and leave.
How could it? How could it do this?
For that I have no answer.
Don't get me wrong, I agree with Ariel that this world is wonderful and full of wonderful things. It's just that sometimes, I don't understand the way it works, and it frustrates me.
If you're reading this and have no clue what I'm talking about, an eleven year old Chabad girl of LA just passed away today from cancer. Her mother was my Hebrew teacher way back in 3rd grade, and I loved her. Never in a million years would I think she'd be going through what she's going through right now. I never met Chaya, nor will I ever, but I know she must've been something quite special. G-d only chooses the strongest ones.
There's so much I want to say and so much I know I shouldn't, so I'm going to leave this post with another one of my favorite quotes that I feel fits right into this and yes it's also from TV.
"Did you ever wonder what it would be like if you weren't you anymore? If you were suddenly gone, how would your world react? Whatever you imagined is wrong. There's nothing romantic about death. Grief is like the ocean; it's deep, and dark, and bigger than all of us. And pain is like a thief of the night. Quiet. Persistent. Unfair. Diminished by time, and faith, and love."
